You will need to do this one simple thing if you want a job in Canada

It does not matter how old you are, what language you speak or if you live in a big city or a small village.  Without doing this one thing, your chances of getting a job in Canada are so small that it is almost not worth it to apply. 

What is this one thing?  When you hear the answer it will be obvious.  However, you will be surprised to hear how many people lose out on jobs in Canada because they don’t do this one simple thing.

We get it.  People in this generation don’t like to talk, or be seen.  Everyone wants to text, tweet, or post on each other’s Facebook page.    But lets get real.  You are not going to get a job in Canada without someone seeing who you are and talking to you in person. 

Obvious you say?  It may seem so, but we cannot tell you how many international candidates actually believe that people in Canada should just be giving them jobs on the spot because they are “perfect” for the position.  In fact, just the other day a candidate told us to send them their visa because this job was meant for them.  Do you know what happens to almost all of these candidates?  They get ignored. 

In fact, we can tell you that every single overseas candidate we have seen find a job in Canada developed a path to success by establishing a person-to-person relationship with a decision maker in Canada using tools such as video conferencing. 

Think about it.  There are a million different reasons why someone would want to specifically hire and help bring you to Canada.  Perhaps it is a common ethnicity.  Maybe it is a shared experience.  However, the reality is that these are connections that simply cannot be expressed authentically on paper. 

So, the next time a recruiter, employer, or company like Uniivaa asks you to Skype, you will do one simple thing if you want a job in Canada.  You will say ‘Yes’!
